Maria McGuire is Co-Chair of the firm's Commercial Finance Group and Principal in the firm.&nbsp;She represents banks, finance companies and other lenders in structuring, documenting and negotiating commercial finance transactions, including asset-based and cash-flow loans, and working capital and acquisition finance transactions. She has experience in a variety of business sectors, including technology finance transactions.&nbsp;

Maria also has extensive experience in international finance transactions, primarily focusing on Europe and North America, and is regularly engaged in restructurings and workouts.&nbsp;

In 2016, Maria was chosen as a "40 Under 40" award recipient by The Secured Finance Network. The award recognizes "the best and brightest rising stars in secured finance." In addition, she was profiled in The Secured Lender's 2018 "Women in Commercial Finance" issue, which recognizes women who "exemplify excellence and have distinguished themselves within the secured finance industry." Since 2021, she has been named a Leading Lawyer in Banking &amp; Financial Institutions, Corporate Finance and Secured Transactions Law by Illinois Leading Lawyers.&nbsp;

Maria joined Goldberg Kohn in October 2005 and is a Member of the firm's Management Committee. Reflecting the firm's dedication to pro bono legal work, she has been involved in projects with the National Immigrant Justice Center and the Center for Disability and Elder Law.&nbsp;
