The results come from the Vault Associate Survey, which is based on scores from more than 20,000 law firm associates in the Chicago area. Survey respondents are asked each year to rate firms for their excellence and level of prestige in the Chicago market. Goldberg Kohn was ranked fourth with nearly 19 percent of the overall votes, ahead of 17 other midsize firms.

Vault has long ranked the top large law firms in Chicago, but introduced a new ranking this year featuring the most prestigious midsize law firms in the city.
