Commercial Finance attorney <a href="https://www.goldbergkohn.com/people/marques-winick/">Marques Winick</a> has been named a 2024 Rising Star Award Recipient by the <a href="https://immigrantjustice.org/">National Immigrant Justice Center</a> (NIJC). He will be honored for advancing access to justice and for his generosity in providing high quality pro bono services to NIJC clients at the NIJC's Human Rights Awards ceremony on June 4, 2024. Goldberg Kohn is a proud sponsor of the event.

The NIJC's Human Rights Awards honors human rights champions and celebrates the contributions of business, philanthropic and community leaders. In 2024, NIJC will be celebrating 25 years of impact at its special Silver Anniversary event. This signature event funds programs that protect immigrant rights and provide access to life-changing immigration legal services for more than 10,000 people each year.

The Keynote Speaker for the event is <a href="https://edwidgedanticat.com/">Edwidge Danticat</a>, who is the author of several books, including "Breath, Eyes, Memory," an Oprah Book Club selection, "Krik? Krak!," a National Book Award finalist, and "The Farming of Bones," an American Book Award winner. Her memoir, "Brother, I'm Dying," was a 2007 finalist for the National Book Award and a 2008 winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for autobiography.

The Human Rights Awards will be held from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Chicago Marriott Downtown, 540 North Michigan Ave.
