On October 13, 2006, Jonathan Cooper will speak about commercial lending at the Illinois Paralegal Association's Fall Education Conference.

Mr. Cooper will provide an overview of the commercial lending laws of several countries and discuss how lenders structure their loans to address issues posed by these laws. He will discuss, among other things, how to obtain a lien on assets located in a foreign jurisdiction, how to determine priority of the lien and how to enforce the lien. He will also give an overview of various recent international lending legal initiatives undertaken by organizations such as the United Nations.
